Rémi's debut, in the weekend of 6 and 7 September, at the senior NTTB Cup/Masters, showed that he continues to take steps.
On Saturday, Rémi finished 2nd in his qualification round robin of 4, which qualified him for the last 16 on Sunday. With twice 3-0 against Kleeberg and Scheurwater and a narrow 2-3 against former Dutch national titleholder Barry Berben, he showed that he was in good shape.
On Sunday, the entire Dutch senior top was present plus some strong foreign players from the premier league. Rémi did not immediately draw favourably because he had to face number three seed Milo de Boer in the first round, who won the Dutch men's singles title in 2024. Rémi managed to win this match 4-0 with direct play with quick pressure on his opponent.
In the quarterfinals, he had to face Lode Hulshof. In this match, Rémi had to settle in for a moment, but when he was at full speed, he took this match 4-2.
In the semi-final, a very good player from Iran faced Rémi. Rémi quickly faced 0-3 deficit. But due to his resilience, he came back to 3-3. In the last game, anything could happen, but he was unlucky in the beginning; the balls just fell wrong while he was playing well. As a result, he unfortunately fell behind quickly, which he could not repair. Unfortunately, there was no final against the eventual winner Gabi Camara.
But all in all, a good tournament and a nice third place at Rémi's debut at the NTTB Cup/Masters.
