2016-11-17   Youth player from India at the TTSD
From 2 to 18 november the TTSD is visited by a talented young India player, who follows a training stage. Five days per week she gets 2 training blocks: every morning starting at 9:00 and every afternoon starting at 16:00. In the 2 weeks she has been in the Netherlands we have seen her progress with big steps.
Because the TTSD delivers quality, a invitation was received to lead a training stage in India, and to participate in a tournament there. The TTSD will investigate this opportunity seriously, and if it is possible we will go to India for sure.
It is not the first time that the TTSD has received an request of a player from outside Europe, to look at the the options to train at the TTSD. Also this shows that our vision and mission give us a respected and positive image, which causes that motivated and talented players from all over the world know how to find us.

2014-11-03   Slovak Cadet Open
TTSD player Collin Jager and his coach from the TTSD went to Bratislava on friday to compete in the Slovak Cadet Open.
On saturday Collin started in the singles. The 1st match was against Patrick Bucko from Slovakia which was lost 3-2, with chances for Collin to win. By playing a ragged 3rd game he didn't pull it off. In his 2nd match against Matje Siwiec from the Czech Republic, Collin each time missed some points in the end phase of the games. His last match in the round robin was against the Greek player Efstratios Damianis, the number 160 of the world, who was too good for Collin.
So in the singles the consolation rounds remained, and there he lost quickly from Spaniard Javier Soria, who had progressed to the last 16 with his country team.

In the doubles Collin was partnered with the Turkish player Sadettin Gencer. Although it took some time to adapt, it went pretty good, but no win.

Arjan stumbled in the first round, but this stimulated him to raise his game, which brought him a 4th spot in the end. This secured him a junior A license for next season.
Dobrila, who played in the girls pupil class showed how good she can become, as long as she keeps playing topspin. She occasionally fell back to her old mistakes, which resulted in a 10th spot.

2014-03-09   TTSD's home match in the TT-Intercup
Beforehand there was a lot of respect for the opponent from Austria and this proved to be right. The TTSD team therefore played in the strongest line up and also in the doubles there was no room for experiments.
Jorne started against the Hungarian first man of the opponent Halbturn and couldn't beat him. Our first man Jochem came out of the blocks sharply against the female star of Halbturn. With thorough play he equaled the match. In the third contest Sjoerd mixed brilliant games with not so good games, but when it became crucial he was good enough and decided the duel in his advantage.
For the large crowd it was an exciting and close match and it was not decided yet. The double with Jochem and Sjoerd had to work hard but finally managed to take this hurdle. Now both strongest players faced each other: Jochem against the Hungarian. Jochem again played very thoroughly and often drove his opponent to despair. When also his hard and scoring backhands parallel could be admired more and more it was decided and the TTSD team could receive the applause. To the quarter finales!

2013-12-28   TTSD services extended with Action Type
Action Type and individual motoric analysis are important for table tennis and are applied by the TTSD. The significance of customized individual training and coaching is more and more important and Action Type is the approach that supports this. It concerns the improvement of the coach- and trainability of the sportsman by increasing the knowledge of his sports style, manner of moving, learning style, spirit and communication style.

People act and react on an own typical manner. Where one reacts sensitively to a certain situation, the other handles this lightly. Some react directly, other let it sink in before reacting. Both reactions have advantages and are steered by the individual preferences. The best way for someone to react is according to his personal preference, which will become apparent by an Action Type test.

Also the motorics of people differs for each individual. Action Type gives knowledge about the different motoric profiles. There is not one single technique because the motoric is dependent upon the personal preference. It is important to take the own motoric preference into account which can yield an acceleration in the development and a decrease in the risk of injuries.

TTSD trainer Janine Huiden studied in 2012 at "NL Coach" the topic "Peak Performance Coaching", coaching with the help of Action Type. Since then she tested more than 100 sportspersons on the preferred style.

Do you want to be tested? Costs are € 25 (location TTSD) including report with your preferred profile (and if desired a 2nd retest). Ask us for an appointment and costs for a multiple person test (whole training group).

The testing according to Action Type is included for a participant in a training camp of the TTSD; without extra costs. If possible the test will be done during the training camp.

With this result she qualified for the main draw, or the last 64. In this main draw she won her match in the first round against a higher ranked Belarussian girl with 3-1, so the last 32 was reached. Unfortunately she then lost 3-1 against a much higher ranked Italian girl. Earlier on the day she had reached the last 16 in doubles with her Swedish partner. As TTSD we therefore look back at a good tournament with a good result for our pupil.

2013-06-09   Angelique and Collin gather international experience in Denmark
2 Players of the TTSD were present at the 6 nations cadets tournament in Denmark, representing the NTTB, starting last thursday.
For Collin it was the 2nd time that he was on the road for the NTTB competing in a strong tournament. In both the singles and the doubles tournament he showed that in a year time the competition will have to take him into account. While he came to learn this year (as a pupil), he will have higher ambitions next year. The past year, Collin has developed himself well and the TTSD is confident he will continue in this way.
Angelique, yes it is known for a longer time at the TTSD that she is capable of competing at international level. This tournament in Denmark was a good test for her international level. In the team tournament she showed a good form, winning 9 out of her 10 matches. In the poule in the singles Angelique again played against the girl who had beaten her in the team competition. And the 2nd time Angelique was just a little bit better and because of that managed to win her poule without loosing a match. From the quarter finals onwards there was a k.o. system. But there was only one that gave all the opponents a k.o.with her hard fh and bh spin and so Angelique won the 6 nations cadets tournament! see the picture below!
